A month or so ago I started thinking about how I have a bucket list (who doesn't?), but all I have really done is said I have one. I have not gone as far as to put it down on paper. Lots of things have been crossed off of it so far which means I have made good progress. But I can't really see the progress I have maid unless I have a physical list so....ere is my bucket list...or at least all that I can think of right now.
Go to Italy
Ok, this should be for obvious reasons, but even more obvious because I am half Italian. Even though I'm just half, for most of my life I have felt like I am 100%. My three kids are 75% so I guess that gives me a right to say I am 100% by osmosis...or something like that.
Attend the World Series
Preferably while either tThe Colorado Rockies or the New York Yankees are playing, but if not, I just want to see what it feels like to go to at least one game. I don't think it's too much to ask for a huge baseball fan like me.
Become a Grandmother
This may sound like a common one, but for me it is far from it. I have just started to even entertain the thought of this, even though I have six kids. So for me it is HUGE to get to this point.
Visit all Major League Baseball Ballparks
I have been to all but 12, including both Yankee stadiums, but none so far this summer. I have plans to visit Miami, St. Louis and Kansas City in the next month or so though. We will see.
Go to the Super Bowl
Preferably when the Broncos go (which may not be in my lifetime!).
Visit Hawaii
This one is due to happen in November of 2017, barring any unforseen circumstances. I am very excited!
Run in the Bolder Boulder
I am far from being an athlete and can't even call myself a runner as of late, but I have always wanted to run a 10K race and I have always wanted to do this one first. I would like to run it before I turn 55 which means I need to run it in 2018.
Rescue Green Sea Turtles Regularly
I am passionate about animals and I really want to be involved with saving turtles. Maybe in Costa Rica after I retire from my regular job.
Write a Best-Seller
I have a few ideas. It is just getting them on paper and being disciplined to write every single day.
Visit Cooperstown
I love baseball so this one is obvious.
Retire on the Beach
Or as close to one as humanly possible. I am passionate about the ocean and need to be near it.
Learn to Speak Spanish
This is important and will come in handy when I'm living on the beach in Costa Rica, saving turtles.
Go Vegan
Right now I am a Pescatarian, which means I eat fish and no meat. But I am well on my way to not consuming any dairy, although I feel like I still may want to have an egg or two every once in a while. This is definitely a work in progress.
Get Certified in EPIC
I love this healthcare software and to be certified in it would the the ultimate career accomplishment.
Make Six Figures by Age 55
I just turned 54 so I have a year to accomplish this one.
Meet Roger Staubach and Taylor Swift
There are other celebrities I'd like to meet, but these are my Top 2. Roger Staubach is my all-time favorite sports hero and Taylor Swift's music has impacted my life more than any other artist.
Okay. That is a good start. There are other things that aren't bucket list items per se, but things that I would like to be: an excellent wife, a fantastic mom, a forgiving and loving friend, a hard worker, an encourager, an amazing trainer, a better lover of God, a giver, selfless...
